Animate layers in a frame
Use the Animate tool to add motion to the layers inside a frame on the board.
Before you start
- A frame on the board containing at least 2 layers.
Steps
- Select one or more frames that contain multiple layers.
- Use the Animate quick action, or ask the agent to animate it.
- Describe the motion you want — or ask the agent for suggestions and let it decide.
- The agent animates the layers within the frame.
The multitrack timeline
When you enter focus mode on a frame, the multitrack timeline opens at the bottom of the editor. The timeline, track properties panel, and media controls are aligned with the rest of the design system. Text and animation track properties live in the editor's side panel.
- Drag tracks to retime layer animations on the timeline.
- Inspect easing for each animation track in the side panel.
- Edit existing tracks via the agent — select a frame with video tracks and ask the agent to adjust them. The agent reads animation duration and existing tracks and updates them coherently using the Edit Video Tracks skill.
Tips
- The Animate tool requires frames with at least 2 child layers. Single-layer frames won't show the Animate option.
- You can ask the agent for animation suggestions if you're not sure what to try.
