The Board
The board is Kyoso's infinite canvas where you create, arrange, and edit images and video as nodes.
What it is
The board is Kyoso's infinite canvas. Everything you create — images, videos, animations — lives on the board as nodes. You pan, zoom, and arrange freely, and the AI agent generates directly onto the board.
Key ideas
- Node — any object on the board (image, video, animation, frame)
- Frame — a container node that holds other nodes as layers; required for tools like Animate (needs at least 2 layers)
- Layer — a child node inside a frame; multiple layers enable animation and composition
- Selection — selecting nodes on the board determines which tools appear as quick actions; the agent reads your selection for context
- Quick actions — tool shortcuts that appear when you select nodes matching a tool's requirements
- Board mode & focus mode — the board opens in board mode (the full canvas). Double-click a node or click Edit on its context toolbar to enter focus mode, where you edit a single node with access to layers, timeline, and design or motion tools. See Board mode and focus mode. Document (text) nodes are the exception: double-click or Edit opens the text editor rather than focus mode.
- Multiplayer presence — collaborators appear as colored pill badges on the board with names, so you can see who's working alongside you in real time.
- Adaptive chat input — when a long prompt overflows, the chat input collapses to about three lines with a gradient hint, and re-expands when you focus it.
How it fits with the rest of Kyoso
The board is where the agent works, using tools and models to generate content. Your brand styles and assets are available on any board in the org.
